IN THE TIME OF WAR, UKRAINIAN DESIGN TAKES A VERY SPECIAL ATTITUDE
On 24.02.2022 Russia attacked Ukraine.
Since then, Ukrainian cities and Ukrainian people have been bombed day and night.
Ukraine remains strong and is ready to fight for its freedom and for its future on its land.
Ukraine does not want to and will not give up its people and its land.
What is Ukrainian design? Typical for Eastern Europe would be floral ornaments and knitted blouses. But it is so much more, especially in the time of war.
Complete chaos with its own order. Visual culture is based on absurdity.
Because of the visual freedom makes bold design. From freedom and chaos comes design without boundaries. But the best way to explain it is artists who live in this country and experience, see and recreate design every day. Therefore, conversations and interviews with people from different creative industries (art, photography, film, styling, communication design, fashion design) are conducted to best convey the diversity and freedom of Ukrainian design.
In the time of war, Ukrainian design takes a very special attitude.
